SENIOR RISK ANALYST

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Analyst to join our dynamic team in the commodities trading and mining industry. This role requires a seasoned professional with management experience, a strong analytical background, and the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively across various business groups. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with Excel, along with the capability to handle physical and derivatives entry accurately and generate comprehensive risk reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain risk management strategies and processes.
- Accurately enter and monitor physical and derivative positions.
- Calculate and run detailed risk reports to inform decision-making.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze data and generate reports.
- Interpret and present complex risk data to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities through data analysis.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Effectively communicate complex ideas and findings to various groups within the business.
- Collaborate with different departments to ensure a comprehensive understanding of risk factors.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on risk analysis.
Leadership and Management:
- Lead and mentor a team of junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Oversee the daily operations of the risk management team, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and development of risk management frameworks.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a risk management role, preferably within the commodities trading or mining industry.
- Proven management experience with the ability to lead and develop a team.
- Extensive experience with Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify key insights.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
